The Thangde Gatsal Art Studio and School is pleased to offer a wide selection of Thangka Art Workshops to all of those who are interested. They range in intensity from one-day introductory workshops to long-term, in-depth practice and application.
The Thangde Gatsal workshops offer students interested in learning about the ancient art of Himalayan Buddhist painting the unique opportunity to receive comprehensive, hands-on training from Thangka Master Lobsang (Lochoe) Choegyal.
Thangde Gatsal is located in close proximity to Dharamsala, an important Tibetan spiritual, political, and cultural center. The Thangde Gatsal campus comprises a working thangka painting studio, a training center for Tibetan artists, a library specializing in Himalayan Buddhist Art, and residences.
All workshops except for the one-day are residential programs, meaning that during their study students will stay on location at one of Thangde Gatsal-s comfortable student residences. All residences include a bed, ensuite bathroom, kitchen, and wifi internet access.
